AEM developed
Title V permit applications for several textile facilities
(both major and synthetic minor) in the states of Georgia,
North Carolina, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania. In all cases,
the process began with the identification of emissions sources,
as well as the identification of all regulated air pollutants
emitted by each, followed by development of an emission inventory.
These initial phases of the application process were completed
at seven of these textile facilities, five of which were found
to have volatile organic chemical (VOC) emissions significantly
higher than levels reported in the past.
AEM not only
performed a thorough compliance review of all applicable
regulations for each facility in question, but also developed
compliance
plans to deal with all identified non-compliance constituents.
In each case, meetings were scheduled with facility engineers
to verify that the means of demonstrating compliance with
each specific role was acceptable.
For each change
of raw material or product, a separate process operation scenario
was submitted, as required by state and federal regulations.
Permits were successfully issued for all plants.
